Mexican Folk Art

Students studied the folk art of Josefina Aguilar from Oaxaca, Mexico. She crafts everyday figures from clay. Students created the original form with clay and then used Crayola model magic to make the details. Each of the figures are individuals just like the artists who designed them.

































Art Club Kids Explore Sumi-e Painting

Sumi-e painting the Japanese way requires students to make their own ink and study the special brushstrokes used to create flowers and bamboo.

Ode to Van Gogh - Sunflowers

Students in grades Pre-K - 5 studied the art of Vincent Van Gogh. We created a still life of sunflowers so that we could use the same techniques as Vincent. We hope that you enjoy our work. Younger students used watercolors and fourth and fifth graders painted with acrylic on canvas.
