It's Cherry Blossom Time Again
Pre- K and Kindergarten students studied the gift of cherry blossom trees that the country of Japan gave to the people of the United States. They viewed pictures of the tidal basin around Washington D.C. so they could have a glimpse of what the cherry blossom trees looked like when they were in full bloom. Then the students created their own cherry blossom trees.

Art Kids of Benavidez Elementary First Blog

Art Kids have had a busy year at Benavidez Elementary in Houston, Texas. We have been working and creating all year. Our goal in art is to learn the art elements and principles of design while creating exciting creative and imaginative work.
We started the year off making masks. Mrs. Stewart taught us about masks throughout history. Masks are not just for Halloween. People have been using masks to change their identities for thousands of years. We learned about symmetry, color, and design. What an awesome project!
